Season Six: The Wasp
A twisting two-hander, a psychological thriller from the acclaimed author of Belongings.
Heather and Carla haven’t seen each other since school. Their lives have taken very different paths—Carla lives a hand-to-mouth existence while Heather has a high-flying career, husband and a beautiful home. And yet, here they are in a café having tea and making awkward conversation. That is until Heather presents Carla with a bag containing a significant amount of cash and an unexpected proposition…
Morgan Lloyd Malcolm’s electric new thriller asks how far beyond the playground we
carry our childhood experiences and to what lengths some people are willing to go to in
order to come to terms with them.
Mary Hollis Inboden, star of The Righteous Gemstones (HBO), Kevin Can F**k Himself (AMC), and The Real O’Neals (ABC), played Heather in our production opposite Meghan Lisi Lewis, most recently seen in The Play That Goes Wrong at Theatre Memphis. The run was a smash hit, selling out every seat of every performance!
And this was an American premiere! Quark was the first theatre company in the US to produce this play that has had multiple successful productions in the UK, Australia and other locations throughout the world. A movie version starring Naomie Harris (Oscar nominee for Moonlight) and Natalie Dormer (late of Game of Thrones) is currently in production. Quark fans were the first Americans to get to see this amazing show!
